Shining the Light of Christ Across Communities
The Yaoundé Field Council of Churches, a vibrant arm of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, is home to five dynamic associations: South Association, East Association, Bertoua Association, Bafia Association, and Ebolowa Association. Each of these associations plays a unique yet united role in spreading the gospel, strengthening the church, and transforming communities through love and service.
1. South Association
Strategically located in the southern reaches of the field, the South Association is known for its deeply rooted churches and vibrant preaching stations. It stands as a beacon of hope, with congregations that are committed to evangelism, discipleship, and social outreach. Through health campaigns, educational support, and youth engagement, the South Association lives out the love of Christ in tangible ways.
2. East Association
The East Association covers a vast and diverse geographical area, marked by both rural and urban challenges. Despite the terrain, the churches here remain steadfast in their mission—to proclaim the gospel where Christ is not yet known. With a focus on church planting, leadership training, and holistic ministry, the East Association is building spiritual foundations and stronger communities, one soul at a time.
3. Bertoua Association
Based in the heart of the East Region, the Bertoua Association serves as a spiritual lifeline to many towns and villages. The churches and preaching stations here are characterized by their zeal and resilience. In a region with both great need and great potential, the Bertoua Association is actively involved in youth evangelism, women’s ministry, and community development efforts, all grounded in the transformative power of the gospel.
4. Bafia Association
Situated in a culturally rich area, the Bafia Association embraces its heritage while boldly advancing the Kingdom of God. Churches in this association are known for their strong worship traditions, evangelistic fervor, and deep sense of fellowship. With programs focused on leadership development, family life, and rural missions, Bafia is nurturing a generation of believers equipped to serve both church and society.
5. Ebolowa Association
Nestled in the lush forests of the South Region, the Ebolowa Association is a growing force for spiritual and social change. Despite challenges like limited infrastructure and scattered populations, the churches here are thriving hubs of faith and compassion. From feeding programs to literacy initiatives, Ebolowa’s congregations are committed to meeting both spiritual and physical needs in the name of Christ.
Together, these five associations form the backbone of the Yaoundé Field Council of Churches. United in purpose and diverse in expression, they serve not only to preach the Word but also to embody it—demonstrating God’s love through action. Whether in urban centers or remote villages, the gospel is being lived out daily through dedicated pastors, lay leaders, and members who believe that every soul matters and every act of love can spark transformation.
