CBC Men’s Department: Rising Up as God’s Men in a Changing World

Raising a Generation of Godly Men to Lead, Disciple, and Transform

In a world where true masculinity is increasingly misunderstood or distorted, the Men’s Department of the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBCMD) is standing firm on the eternal foundation of God’s Word, boldly calling men to rise as disciples, leaders, peace-makers, and ideal husbands. More than just a ministry group, CBCMD is a movement—one that is shaping men into the image of Christ and mobilizing them to take their place in the church, in the family, and in society.

Rooted in the Great Commission, CBCMD’s vision is clear: “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). But this call starts not in distant lands—but in our homes, our neighborhoods, and our local churches. The CBC Men’s Department is answering this call with conviction, equipping men to become spiritual fathers, disciple-makers, and Christlike examples in every sphere of life.

Go and Make Disciples: The Mandate of the CBC Man

The first and foremost identity of a CBC man is that of a disciple and a disciple-maker. The CBC Men’s Department strongly believes that every man is called to spiritual maturity and to intentionally reproduce that maturity in others—starting with their families and extending into the world.

Jesus’ words are not optional:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19 (NIV)

To fulfill this call, CBCMD organizes:

  • Bible study sessions and discipleship training
  • Evangelism outreach programs
  • Mentorship initiatives, connecting mature Christian men with younger ones
  • Men’s Retreats focused on spiritual renewal and leadership formation

Across the Yaoundé Field, men are taking ownership of the gospel, not only as listeners but as ambassadors. In homes, markets, workplaces, and pulpits, CBC men are rising to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-14).

Peacemakers in a Troubled World

In an age of growing conflict—in marriages, communities, and even churches—CBCMD believes that men are called to be instruments of peace, not agents of division. Inspired by the words of Jesus:

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” – Matthew 5:9 (NIV)

CBC men are being trained and encouraged to:

  • Resolve conflicts with wisdom and grace
  • Promote unity in the body of Christ
  • Lead their families and communities with patience and truth
  • Model forgiveness and humility in relationships

Through conflict resolution workshops, counseling seminars, and small group discussions, the department emphasizes the power of reconciliation, reminding men that real strength is seen in humility and grace.

Becoming the Husband God Desires

Marriage is not just a social institution—it is a divine covenant. The CBC Men’s Department is committed to raising husbands who love, lead, and serve their wives as Christ loved the Church.

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” – Ephesians 5:25 (NIV)

Through marriage enrichment seminars, couple’s retreats, and biblical teaching, men are being equipped to:

  • Nurture their families in the Word of God
  • Provide spiritual, emotional, and physical covering for their wives and children
  • Model godly love, self-sacrifice, and emotional strength
  • Break the cycle of absentee or authoritarian fatherhood and become servant leaders in the home

The result? Homes that are stronger, children that are more grounded, and communities that are more stable.

Yaoundé Field: Igniting the Fire of Spiritual Growth

The Yaoundé Field of the CBCMD is taking the lead in organizing impactful programs to boost the spiritual growth of men. These field-wide efforts are reawakening men’s commitment to Christ and community. Programs include:

  • Men’s Spiritual Emphasis Weeks – Seasons of focused prayer, fasting, and biblical teaching
  • Monthly Men’s Prayer Fellowships – Local assemblies where men gather to seek God’s face
  • Regional Men’s Conferences – Featuring teaching on leadership, integrity, discipleship, and practical ministry
  • Community Outreach and Evangelism – Men taking the gospel to prisons, hospitals, and unreached villages
  • Men in Worship Programs – Special events where men come together in powerful, Spirit-led worship and fellowship

Each gathering is an opportunity to reignite spiritual fire, deepen biblical understanding, and build brotherhood among men of faith.

The CBCMD Man: A New Standard of Masculinity

The CBCMD is challenging the stereotypes of toxic masculinity with a new standard—the man after God’s heart. A man who is:

  • Spirit-filled and Scripture-rooted
  • A servant leader, not a dictator
  • A peacemaker, not a troublemaker
  • A faithful husband and loving father
  • An ambassador of Christ in word and deed

Such men are not born—they are built through discipleship, accountability, spiritual growth, and love.

Answering the Call: It’s Time to Rise

The CBC Men’s Department is not calling men to comfort but to commission. The world is in need of strong, godly men—men who will not run from responsibility, but embrace it with courage, grace, and vision.

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (ESV)

Men of Cameroon, men of Yaoundé, men of the Kingdom—it’s time to rise.
Let us go.
Let us disciple.
Let us love.
Let us lead.

Together, through the CBCMD, we are building a legacy of faith and leadership that will echo into eternity.
